Welcome to the Annual River Hawk District Spook-O-Ree, the only River Hawk District event dedicated solely to our 4th and 5th grade scouts! Spook-O-Ree is an great introduction to the Scouts BSA program and a unique "speed style" recruiting event for units across the district and a fun Halloween theme!
We’ve planned quite a weekend for your scouts:
Two nights of Fall camping
Lots of hands-on activities with the chance to earn some Adventure requirements
Meet over 300 scouts from other Packs
Learning from Scouts from many different troops across Anne Arundel County, most youth led!
Big Saturday evening Campfire and flag retirement ceremony
…and the chance to have fun in the Autumn weather!
This is the single Webelos/Arrow of Light activity of the year. Your Pack’s scouts are moving from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA and have earned the privilege of having their own special event. So let’s keep it special and limited only to Webelos and Arrow of Light Dens, Leaders, and Parent/Adult Guardians. ** NO younger Cub Scouts or siblings please.**
An outdoor camping experience is one of the best traditions of Boy Scouts of America, so BE PREPARED and bring gear suitable for unexpected weather. Pack light and smart using the Suggested Gear List. Please remember to always follow BSA guidelines for two-deep leadership, and low impact camping (leave no trace).
Please remember that all Adventure stations are being staffed by volunteers, just like you. So be polite and thank them for giving up their weekend to provide a great time for your scouts. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet Scouts and Scoutmasters from over twenty different Scouts BSA troops supporting Spook-O-Ree!
The Scout Oath, Law, and Outdoor Code apply throughout the event. Some of our stations offer activities that may be potentially hazardous if safety instructions of the staff aren’t carefully followed. We want your scouts to have a great time – but cannot allow misbehavior. All adult staff members have the responsibility to report youth not following safety instructions, misbehaving, or being destructive to the grounds and its environment.
